Designated Bathing Beach with toilets available all year round. Café facilities during the summer period.
This is a busy Seaside Award beach which hosts many sports and activities throughout the season. To the south, anti-tank blocks can be found on the beach near the medieval village of Wilsthorpe. There is very little cliff here and much of the farmland is only a couple of metres above sea level. The area is now constantly threatened by the North Sea and was thought extremely vulnerable to enemy attack during World War II so was heavily fortified.

Parking in Bridlington Park and Ride
Wilsthorpe beach is accessed via a steep slipway next to the Bridlington Park and Ride. Care should be taken by wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility as the surface is steep and uneven. You can gain access to the beach which is largely flat with soft sand.
Wheelchair users also have access to the Wilsthorpe beach through the hiring of our beach wheelchairs. We have two types of wheelchairs available, one that will go just onto the sand and another that you can take into the sea. Either of these wheelchairs can be booked out for half a day by calling our Coastal Services Office. Please note you will need to pick up the beach wheelchair from the South Side Office and take it along the Bridlington Promenade to Wilsthorpe Beach.
Disabled toilets are located at the Bridlington Park and Ride car park just behind the bus stop.
The Park and Ride bus service can take wheelchair users into Bridlington from here or alternatively a land train can take passengers along the promenade up to the Bridlington Spa. Please note that the land train only runs along the promenade. Access to the promenade is a two minute walk via a slope located just North of the Park and Ride
