Access to Tunstall beach is via the privately owned Sand-le-Mere caravan park. There is a pathway to the beach that is frequently subjected to erosion and can be quite muddy and uneven in places. This beach is not recommended for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility.

To the North is Cowden beach which forms part of RAF Cowden ranges. Care should be exercised with objects on the beach as items from the testing range and World War II have surfaced in the past. Information board and site details are available at this location.
