Visit Coast

The East Riding of Yorkshire is home to over 53 miles of coastline, which offer a wonderful variety of landscapes and points of interest.

The 120-metre high chalk cliffs, stacks, caves, and coves at Bempton and Flamborough Head support large numbers of breeding seabirds such as puffins, gannets and razorbills. Flamborough has been recognised internationally as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and Special Protection Area (SPA).

Find out what else the wonderful East Riding coast has to offer, such as award winning beaches, a premier entertainment venue, holiday resorts and family fun activities.

Visit Countryside

The countryside access team is responsible for some of the local nature reserves in the East Riding. We work towards conserving and improving wildlife in the reserves whilst providing a fantastic natural haven for everyone to visit safely at their leisure. People of all ages, abilities and interests are welcome for education, play, relaxation and for the sheer joy of being in a wild place with the freedom that it offers.

We are also responsible for ensuring that countryside walks are well maintained and open for you to use and enjoy. The public rights of way network is a wonderful asset giving the public access to the best viewpoints, the best landscapes and the best wildlife in the East Riding. Search out these routes on our Walking the Riding website. The countryside access team hold the Customer Service Excellence Award and always endeavour to provide the highest standards of customer service.
